Memo on Stipends for Direct Care Workers
We recognize and value the role our direct care workforce have played throughout this unprecedented time. No one was prepared for what 2020 brought us. Every business had to think and act differently, while preserving as much of the ‘pre-covid’ norm as possible. What CDS Life Transitions faced and accomplished together was an outstanding illustration of what being a highly dedicated and skilled employee looks like. The COVID-19 pandemic has demanded even more of our employees over the past year and they have all stepped up and persevered for those we serve. They have showed bravery, compassion, and fortitude. For that we are forever grateful.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and our colleagues on the executive team, we thank them for sticking with us, and most important, with the individuals we support under our mission. In recognition of their dedication and perseverance, we are pleased to offer a retention stipend that will be paid out in the first week of June to these individuals. Additionally, we will issue a second stipend in December, our HR team working with the local SEIU to agree upon terms.

We thank our direct care workers for all their hard work and all they do for the individuals we serve. These stipends are well-deserved.
