Nucor Auburn presents Warrior Salute with $33,000 check from golf tournament

Rochester, N.Y. – Oct. 7, 2015 – Nucor Steel Auburn hosted a golf tournament Tuesday, Sept. 15 to benefit Warrior Salute, a service of CDS Monarch. The tournament raised $33,000 to help fund critical transitional therapy and services for Veterans such as counseling, art therapy and transitional housing.

“I cannot stress enough how much Nucor’s support has helped to provide beneficial services to our nation’s Veterans,” CDS Monarch President/CEO, Sankar Sewnauth said. “This generous donation will ensure Veterans receive the personalized rehabilitative and case management services that will help them transition successfully back into their communities. We are extremely grateful to Nucor and their employees who helped organize this fundraiser for Warrior Salute. We appreciate the dedication and commitment to our mission.”

“Nucor Auburn is pleased to support Warrior Salute and the Nucor House in Rochester,” Nucor Auburn E-Commerce Supervisor Diane Schillawski said. Schillawski and her team organized the golf tournament and presented the check to Warrior Salute. “After visiting both facilities and meeting with some of the Veterans in the program and those who have graduated, it was clear as to what we needed to do: Raise funds for our Veterans for their rehabilitative needs. A team at our division set forth to host a successful sponsorship campaign and tournament by contacting Nucor Auburn vendors and community organizations asking for their assistance. Their support is what made this possible. We look forward to continuing these efforts next year.”
