CDS Wolf Foundation’s Inaugural Gala Sets Stage for CDS Life Transitions’ Next Era of Service with $80,000 Raised for Mission-Focused Work
Webster, N.Y. – The CDS Wolf Foundation hosted its inaugural Gala: CDS Through the Ages at Arbor Midtown on the evening of Friday, November 15, 2024. Those in attendance came together, raising $80,000 in support of the nonprofit human services agency’s mission-focused work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Veterans, seniors, and families.
The event included a silent auction and also saw the organization honor three individuals who have had a significant role in CDS Life Transitions’ impact since being founded in 1977.
The first award given out was the CDS Life Transitions Community Impact Award. This award was presented to Jennifer Carlson, CEO of the Finger Lakes Area Counseling and Recovery Agency. Carlson is the Board Chair of CDS Monarch and the 2nd Vice Chair of the CDS Life Transitions Board of Directors.
“Through her generosity, selflessness, and advocacy, Jennifer Carlson has enriched her community and truly embodies the spirit of CDS Life Transitions Community Impact Award,” said David Greenman, Executive Director of the CDS Wolf Foundation.
The second award of the evening was presented to a long-time CDS Life Transitions employee who exemplifies the organization’s S.C.O.R.E. Customer Service Standards – Safety, Compassion, Opportunity, Responsiveness, and Efficiency. The award was presented to Rich Staggert, who “has been a cornerstone of the CDS IT team, known for his dependability, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence.”
The CDS Life Transitions Award for Leadership was the final award presentation of the evening. This award celebrates exemplary leadership that fosters an atmosphere of caring, compassion, and courage. The award was presented to former CDS Life Transitions President and CEO Sankar Sewnauth.
“Under Sankar’s guidance, CDS Life Transitions evolved into one of New York State’s most comprehensive nonprofit agencies dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Greenman, noting “Sankar’s tenure saw the launch of programs spanning Medicaid Managed Long Term Care, Integrated Affordable Housing, and specialized support for Veterans with PTSD and TBI.”
CDS Life Transitions would like to thank all of the sponsors who helped to make the inaugural gala such a success, including the Visionary Sponsors – Forge Metal Finishing and Caseworthy. Their support, like that of all of the sponsors, contributes to the ongoing work that CDS Life Transitions does.
“Together, we will continue growing, innovating, and creating opportunities for those we serve,” said Greenman.
