PRESS RELEASE: The CDS Wolf Foundation raises $40,000 at the 10th annual Strikes for Abilities Bowling Party

Webster, N.Y. – Mar. 20, 2017 – The CDS Wolf Foundation raised $40,000 at the 10th Annual Strikes for Abilities Bowling Party presented by FlahertySalmin CPAs and Gallo & Iacovangelo, LLP Sunday, March 5th, 2017.

The event raised a record amount of $40,000 to support year-round recreation, health, wellness and socialization activities, as well as emergency assistance for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by CDS Monarch. Many of our recreational services, for example, the CDS Monarch Special Olympics team, are made possible by this event. There were over 300 people in attendance from across the Greater Rochester community. In addition to our presenting sponsors, the CDS Wolf Foundation would like to thank Scott Spezzano from 98.9 The Buzz for being the event emcee.

“On behalf of everyone at CDS Life Transitions, I would like to express my deepest appreciation and congratulations to the CDS Wolf Foundation and the volunteer committee for holding another outstanding bowling event,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, CDS Life Transitions President/CEO. “Their continued hard work and dedication are among the many reasons this event is so successful every year, and the outpouring of support from everyone furthers our mission and vision to continue to assist the individuals we serve.”

The 2017 Top Fundraiser was Chuckie Dell (For the Love of Chuckie team), who raised over $4,000, and the 2017 Top Bowler was Jim Dibellis, with a score of 278.

Several generous businesses and individuals also helped raise an additional $1,300 during the “CEO Strike Challenge,” During the 5th frame of the first game, each lane sent up their best team member, and for every lane that bowled a strike $20.00 was donated by President/CEO Sankar Sewnauth and matched by four other sponsors!

This event was organized by a compassionate group of family and community volunteers. The 2017 Volunteer Committee Chair was Margie Dell (for the sixth year in a row), whose brother Chuckie lives at CDS Monarch’s French Road residence, works at Unistel Industries and is a gold medal winning athlete on CDS Monarch’s Special Olympics team.
