Warrior Salute teams up with BodyMind Float Center for PTSD rehab pilot study

Rochester, N.Y. – Nov. 17, 2015 – Four Warrior Salute Veterans will receive free float sessions at BodyMind Float Center as part of the center’s Float it Forward initiative. Playing on the Pay it Forward concept, BodyMind Float Center won 2,400 pounds of epsom salt and has decided to use it to help rehabilitate Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Warrior Salute is committed to providing the best services for our nation’s heroes,” CDS Monarch President/CEO Sankar Sewnauth said. “That means embracing innovation and finding new ways to help the Veterans in Warrior Salute get back on their feet. We’re excited to see what kind of beneficial results the Veterans experience.”

“We are thrilled and honored to partner with Warrior Salute in bringing the benefits of floating to the men and women who have served our country and who need help now,” BodyMind Float Center owner David Brickman said. “At Bodymind Float Center, we have seen how floating addresses the symptoms of PTSD and, with this pilot study, we are poised to begin collecting data that will bring what we know and have observed beyond the anecdotal.

“Our primary goal is immediate relief for those suffering now. Our secondary goal is a peer-reviewed study on floating and PTSD conducted right here in Rochester.”
