NY State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio visits CDS Life Transitions to receive lifetime achievement award

Rochester, N.Y. – Nov 3, 2016 – On Thursday, November 3rd at 1:30 p.m., NYS Senator Michael F. Nozzolio will be visiting CDS Life Transitions in Webster, N.Y. to receive a lifetime achievement award for his support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, veterans and seniors in our community.

“The support we have received from Senator Nozzolio has been unprecedented,” CDS Life Transitions President/CEO Sankar Sewnauth said. “Senator Nozzolio has supported our mission throughout his tenure in the Senate which has allowed CDS Life Transitions to grow and better serve those in our community.”

Senator Nozzolio was instrumental during the creation and development of the Wolf Life Transitions Center in 2008, as a place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn and grow. He has been an overall supporter of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in this community. Additionally, he has supported funding requests to New York State for the Warrior Salute Veteran Services program, which helps veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and military sexual trauma regain their lives.

Senator Nozzolio has also given his support to CDS Housing’s mission of offering high quality, affordable housing to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors and veterans.

“It has been my honor to represent CDS Life Transitions and to fully support the work that is lead by Sankar Sewnauth and his team,” Senator Nozzolio said. “They are to be commended for the care, compassion and concern they demonstrate each and every day in their work with veterans and the developmentally disabled.”

Senator Nozzolio will be visiting the Wolf Life Transitions Center, 860 Hard Road, in Webster for a presentation of his lifetime achievement award and tour of the facility at 1:30 p.m.
