CDS Monarch President/CEO Receives ESGR Above and Beyond Award

Rochester, NY – Thursday, June 5, 2014 – We are proud to announce that CDS Monarch President/CEO, Sankar Sewnauth, was presented with the prestigious Above and Beyond Award by the New York State ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) Committee. A formal presentation was be held on Thursday, June 5th at 11:00am at CDS Monarch’s Wolf Life Transitions Center in Webster (860 Hard Road). General Dennis Lutz, Retired, Chair of the NY State ESGR, and Jeffrey Luellen, Chair of the Genesee Region ESGR, were in attendance, along with several other members, to present the award.

The Above and Beyond Award recognizes employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential or full pay to offset lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits. The award is given in limited numbers by state committees to employers who have had at least one of their supervisors/managers recognized with a Patriot Award, and who have signed or agree to sign a statement of support (SoS). Mr. Sewnauth became the recipient of the Patriot Award in October 2013, after being nominated by NY Army National Guard Specialist Brian Kennedy, who is a full-time employee of CDS Monarch.

“By it’s definition, the Above and Beyond Award embodies what Sankar Sewnauth is all about,” stated Frank Gerham, Awards Coordinator, Rochester ESGR Committee. “Through the creation and continual support of Warrior Salute, Sankar is helping ALL Veterans with PTSD and TBI regain their lives. That, is clearly going above and beyond.”
“I was really humbled by this award, and accepted it on behalf of the entire CDS Monarch staff, as it truly takes an entire team to provide the ongoing support that our Veterans and Military Service members need and rightfully deserve,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, President/CEO of CDS Monarch.

The entire CDS Monarch family would like to extend their congratulations to Mr. Sewnauth for this outstanding achievement!

ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families. ESGR has continued to adapt to meet the needs of Reserve Component members, their families and America’s employers by joining forces with a network of other national, state and local government and professional trade organizations as together, We All Serve!
