NY State Senator Ted O’Brien to Meet Veterans at Warrior Salute, Nucor House
New York State Senator Ted O’Brien will visit with veterans who are dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI) and receive support through Warrior Salute, a service of CDS Monarch. During his visit to The Nucor House on Monday, April 14th, Senator O’Brien will have the opportunity to meet and speak with veterans about the important services they are receiving at Warrior Salute. He will also be able to take a tour of The Nucor House, a residential home where those enrolled in Warrior Salute are able to live, and receive 24/7 support from their peers and staff.
“CDS Monarch does truly admirable work in the Rochester and Finger Lakes Region and serves as an essential resource for our veterans,” Senator Ted O’Brien said. “This year I was proud to vote for a budget that provides $200,000 in additional funding for CDS Monarch’s Warrior Salute program. Warrior Salute sets the standard for how our community should support returning heroes – especially those suffering from traumatic brain injuries and PTSD – and I am honored to have the opportunity to spend time visiting the program and meeting these brave veterans who sacrificed so much for our country.”
“CDS Monarch recognizes that Veterans returning home from military duty gave so much for our freedom, and now it is our turn to repay them. We are doing this through Warrior Salute, by offering them the supports they need to transition back into their community,” stated Sankar Sewnauth, CDS Monarch President/CEO. “We are proud to have officials like Senator O’Brien recognize the value and importance of Warrior Salute, and the need for such a program to support our Veterans as they make this transition. We appreciate all of the support he has demonstrated towards our service men and women, who gave so much for all of us.”
